TPCG and Girls on the Run

Partnering for the Growth of Life Skills in Every Girl

Through a successful cooperative endeavor agreement, Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government (TPCG) and the Girls on the Run Bayou Region (GOTR) are able to provide quality life skills programs to our area.

Girls on the Run Bayou Region is a council of Girls on the Run International, proudly serving Terrebonne Parish. Since inception, GOTR Bayou Region has unlocked the power and potential of over 3,938 participants and made a lasting impact on our community through participant-led service projects. At Girls on the Run Bayou Region, teaching critical life skills is the cornerstone of our research-based programs. Meeting in small teams, trained volunteer coaches inspire girls of all abilities to strengthen confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity. The Girls on the Run researched-based curriculum is structured around understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork, and recognizing how we can shape the world at large. Participants gain critical life skills that strengthen their potential at a time when societal pressures and conflicting messages about how to feel and act can cause doubt and uncertainty.

Girls on the RunĀ® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance participants' social, emotional and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. Fun, interactive lessons meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds.
